What Are The Healthiest Foods To Eat?

Everybody keeps hearing that they should eat more healthy food, but what are healthiest foods to eat?
Well, the healthiest foods are whole foods – foods that have not been altered or refined. For example, whole grain bread, brown rice, nuts, and fresh fruits and vegetables. These kinds of foods contain the nutrients that are important for optimum health.
Junk Food – Why Is It So Unhealthy To Eat?
What makes junk food such a bad food choice?

The term “Junk Food” incorporates such a wide range of food these days, since so many different types of food are made in so many different tastes and varieties.
Basically speaking, junk food includes food that has a lot of added sugar, and has had most of its nutrients removed. For example, white bread is white because it had been refined to the point where it has very little fibre or nutrients left. It is mostly just pure carbohydrate.
Sweet foods such as chocolate are bad because they are so high in sugar. Foods high in sugar will upset your blood sugar level, causing unstable moods and weight gain. Sugar also rots your teeth. Also, did you know that each time you consume sugar, you use up your body’s store of B-vitamins?
People who eat a lot of junk food like this often find it hard to lose weight.

Why Is Healthy Food So Good For You To Eat?
What makes it so healthy?

Every time you eat healthy food, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, you are literally fuelling your body with the right nutrients it needs to function effectively. Just as your car needs the right food in order to function effectively, so does your body.
So eat some healthy food, now! Go on, what are you waiting for? Go grab a piece of fruit!
The Benefits of Eating Healthy Food
Why it’s such a good idea to eat healthy food

When you eat healthy foods, you become more healthy. But what does this mean? What does it actually mean to be healthy?
Although a lot of people’s reason for improving their health is mostly about appearances – they want to lose weight and look better – this is not the only aspect of health. When you feel healthy, it improves every aspect of your life. You feel happier, you have more energy, you enjoy your hobbies and interests more, you get on better with other people. It’s not just about BEING healthy, it’s about FEELING GOOD!

Types of Walking to Lose Weight

Glycemic Index Food List

Glycemic Index Food List – Why It’s Important

The reason it’s important to use a glycemic index food list, is that it can really help you to control your weight.
Every time we eat food, our body converts the food into sugar, to be used as energy. However, some foods convert to sugar quicker than others.
If a food converts into sugar quickly, this causes a rapid rise in blood sugar level, followed by a rapid drop in blood sugar level as our body tries to even itself out.
The excess sugar gets temporarily stored in the body, and then if not used up soon as energy, it gets stored as fat.
Therefore, if you can keep your blood sugar level more stable, by eating low glycemic foods (that convert to sugar slowly), you will be able to control your weight.

What Diets Are There That Claim To Help You Lose Weight?

If you’re looking to lose weight, you’re probably wondering what diets there are out there that can help you to lose weight.
The problem is, a lot of these diets simply don’t work. Or worse – they are bad for your health.
On this page, I intend to take a look at some of the most well-known diets around, and ask the question – does this diet really help you to lose weight?

Low Calorie Diet – Will It Help You Lose Weight?

For many years, the standard advice to many overweight people is to cut down on the total number of calories they eat in a day.
The problem with this kind of diet, is that it doesn’t take into account the TYPE of food that people eat. The TYPE of food you eat is far more important.
For example, you could eat only a few calories, but if those calories all came from chocolate, you’re not going to be very healthy.
On the other hand, you could eat lots of calories, but if all of those calories came from whole foods such as wholegrain cereals, fresh fruit and vegetables, and quality proteins, then you would be far more healthy.
Also, if you suddenly reduce your calories intake, you metabolism will slow down to accommodate this, and your body will merely burn fewer calories.
Low Fat Diet – Good For Losing Weight?
Cutting out fatty food

There are good fats, and there are bad fats. Our body needs fat, but the RIGHT kind of fat. It is SATURATE fat which is the bad kind. We need less of this kind of fat, and more POLYNSATURATE and MONOUNSATURATE fats, as well as OMEGA OILS such as Omega 3 (from fish) and Omega 6 (from seeds).
Of course, cut out the SATURATED fat from your diet. However, you will not lose weight from just doing that. You need to eat healthy in other ways too, byt eating lots of wholefoods, such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables, which are full of the nutrients that your body needs.
Low Carb Diets – Can You Lose Weight?
Cutting down on the carbohydrate in your diet

The problem here is that our bodies need carbohydrate for energy. But again, just like with the fat, there are good carbohydrates and bad carbohydrates.
The kind of carbohydrates you need to avoid are the refined kind, such as white bread, white pasta, white rice, sugar, chocolate, biscuits, etc.
Good carbohydrate means whole foods such as whole grain bread, wholemeal pasta, oats, beans, lentils, and also fresh fruits and vegetables. You are much more likely to lose weight eating good carbohydrates like this.
