This website is dedicated to weight loss tips, information, programs and products that contribute to healthy weight loss.
There is not one ultimate weight loss solution. Weight loss is an individual journey and it is different from person to person. Some people don’t like spending hours in a gym, sweating, they would rather be calorie-conscious; others prefer to exercise vigorously, almost every day and make very few changes to their diet and there are many others in between.
Besides personal preferences, there are also physiological and psychological differences; all of them are factors that determine how effective a particular weight loss program is for a particular individual.
There are many different weight loss programs to choose from, some of them are well-known and others are not so famous however the obesity level of the population increases.
For example, the number of weight-related surgeries in Scotland quadrupled from 2003-2007 (Source: The Scotsman, Edinburgh, March 14, 2009). There are also brain surgeries for obese people introduced recently for those who underwent a weight loss surgery but couldn’t stop eating.
Obesity is a serious problem; in fact, it is a disease that requires a medical intervention.
According to a 1995 report from the Institute of Medicine, “obesity is a heterogeneous disease in which genetic, environmental, psychological, and other factors are involved.
It occurs when energy intake exceeds the amount of energy expended over time. Only in a small minority of cases is obesity caused by such illnesses as hypothyroidism or the result of taking medications, such as steroids, that can cause weight gain.”
This website provides information and resources to overweight people. If you are obese I would recommend that you see a medical doctor to find out a program or surgery that is right for you.
